Christmas Season 2

IMG_2874The tree is decorated, the cards are on the mantle, the house decorated, the stockings hung (with care).

The shopping is finished (thank goodness), the packages wrapped and under the tree.

We’re all settled in, only a few days before the big day. Outside it’s pouring rain, we’re expecting four or more inches this weekend. Rivers are rising.

Inside, it’s toasty and warm, with holiday music, hot coffee and hot cocoa with mini- marshmallows. Also, today is cookie baking. The house smells great!

This evening the Christmas Vacation  and Scrooge movies will be watched. with cookies and cold milk. Reading, football, dozing cats, Christmas music, cookie baking, the tree and lights.

What could be better?

Very nice and very much in the spirit of the season.

  2. Jeff Meyerson says:

I really like the look of those cookies.

  3. Nothing, that is a wonderful set up and way to spend the day. Everything looks nice and festive.

  4. I’m with Jeff: those cookies look yummy! I’m on “Winter Break” (the politically correct euphemism for Christmas Vacation). Patrick flies in Tuesday morning (he’s taking the “red-eye” flight). We have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.

  5. Richard, that’s a lovely Christmas setup. It’s the best season of the year, isn’t it?

  6. Patti Abbott says:

Yours is a lovely warm house, Rick.

Thank you all, we had a wonderful day yesterday and today, even did a little mall wandering including a real live book store. Nothing bought, but a couple of ideas to get at the library. Nice decorations out and about, got lucky with parking, even. Now watching the football game. Ahhhh.

What could be better, indeed? Not much, Richard. 🙂 Looks like you’re all ready for a wonderful Christmas day.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. I was kind of hoping for a white Christmas, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

  9. Richard says:

Yvette, Merry Christmas! I guess you’re still watching all those favorite movies of yours. We watched Christmas Vacation two nights ago and Scrooge is up tonight, then A Christmas Carol (George C. Scott version). We’ll have rain, but it’s unseasonably warm (50s here) so no white stuff for us either.
