It’s beginning to look a lot like… well you know. No snow yet (this has been the driest December on record) but we’ve had a couple of hard frosts. These were taken in our back yard.
The grasses got so much frost they were double their size, the Witch Hazel, with a few leaves left, iced up and the Clerodendrum tree, with it’s winter pods, looks like we had it flocked. Mostly it’s just been damp and foggy, nice weather to sit by the fire with a book.
Great pictures.
Thanks, Chris!
After two years in a row with record amounts of snowfall, we’ve had a pretty dry Dec. as well. We have gotten some rain, but it has stayed in the mid to upper 40’s so no snow. Some frost, but only one heavy frost day. There is snow in the forecast for Monday night and Tuesday. I’m crossing my fingers. I’ve been in the Christmas spirit, but I still need some snow.
The three inches of snow from last week is all gone. December has been abnormally warm. Usually we have 17 inches of snow by now….we’ve only had three!
We’ve had way above normal snow totals four of the last five years so we’re hoping for the best. So far this month, like George upstate, has been 5+ degrees warmer than average, with little rain and no snow. I’m hoping it stays that way.
WE’ve gotten some frost here too and it sure is lovely frozen into the spiderwebs.
We are having the wettest year ever. Maybe this is Portland.
We wouldn’t mind it being a little drier come March-April, which last year set every record for cold and wet here. P881 – think you’re in the wrong part of the country for Portland, but all tht wetness would sure be appreciated in Texas!
