It’s good to have friends…

… especially ones with pick-up trucks. This morning my friend Dave Lewis came by and we headed to Home Depot where we bought two pre-assembled kitchen cabinets, a sheet of melamine, a sheet of plywood, a bunch of 1 x 3s, and some screws ‘n’ other hardware. We put it in his truck and hauled it up The Hill to the house, then unloaded it and carried it down the path at the side of the house and into the lower level.

With some put-it-together, this will result in a fabric storage and cutting table for Wife the quilter in her quilting area. We’ve seen set-ups like this in quilt magazines, and you can buy them all ready-made from companies, but the materials for this will cost less than a third of one of those, and be every bit as functional, I guar-en-tee, as the Louisiana BBQ guy used to say.

So a big Thanks! goes out to Dave.

oh, and this explains, in part, why the NEW ARRIVALS post will be tomorrow.

Good friend to have. We recently bought two kitchen cabinets to replace the ones we’ve hauled around for 24-40 years!

Yes, a good friend to have, indeed. Talented writer, too.

It’s interesting, usually kitchen cabinets stay in the kitchen, but I’m guessing yours were used for storage, as these will be. It’s a great way to use them.
