2010: The Year We Make Contact
What it is we make contact with, of course, is still to be determined…
I’m feeling much better today, yesterday I got lots of rest and didn’t stay up too late or have too much champagne last night. Today we’ll get the decorations down and put away – a major undertaking every year – and things will get back to normal. That means next week you can expect some posts with a little more content, and there will be a Friday Forgotten Book and a Saturday Soundtrack. Back in the groove!
Diane would leave the Christmas tree up all year. As it is, we’ll probably “de-Christmastize” the house on MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY.
With five leaping, jumping, curious cats, we solved the Christmas tree problems but not having one. Cats were shocked, but life was much, much easier and no broken ornaments.
As I write this (11:16 a.m. Jan. 1) the Rose Parade has been watched, breakfast eaten, the outside lights are down and put away, the new Christmas cards we bought the day after are put away, the mantle cleared and packed. We are making good progress, Wife is doing most of it, bless her, while I’m sort of watching football and sort of supervising things. š
I’m watching the Rose Bowl right now, and Ohio St. is slapping the Ducks around. Sigh.
“Supervising” is an amusing word.
My Arizona team got slaughtered, at least the Ducks scored some points. Florida sure looked good against the -previously unbeaten – Cincinnati Bearcats.
