I got the usual postcard in the mail from Comic-Con yesterday, stirring the pot for interest in the coming summer’s extravaganza. One thing though. Four Day Passes are already sold out. Single day passes go on sale by internet December 15.
Good grief! It sold out last year but not this early. I can only guess that a) they sold a LOT of passes at this year’s event, and b) there are a lot of blocks of passes going to media companies. I haven’t gone in a few years, it got too big, crowded, and has moved further away from it’s comics roots. But it used to be fun, especially when I worked for CrossGen Comics.
Oh well, another good thing gone, at least for me.
I’d go just to spend time in San Diego.
I used to go every year, had a lot of friends – writers and artists – in the business and it was always a kick to d a little shopping. I’ve gotten rid of most of the stuff (wife not so keen on it) though I still have all of the original art. I bought over the years.
