A Christmas Surprise We Could Have Done Without (Part 2)

The plumber arrived about 1:30 this afternoon, ready to get us all fixed up.

Plumbing 02Last night, we had one working bathroom; toilet, shower, sink. So that was great, and we got by. Spent some of the evening watching the Hallmark Channel, which is showing Christmas/holiday movies around the clock. I didn’t sleep well.

So the plumber is working in the (room to stand up in it) crawl space, actually a sub basement. I just talked to him and he said he’ll be able to get it all fixed today, so in a couple of hours we will have a new pipe section replacing the old broken one and be up and running, pun intended. The only question that remains is cost. I’m worried.  To be continued…

  1. Carl V. says:

Yes, the cost is always the fun part!

  2. Jeff Meyerson says:

At least he doesn’t have to “send for a part” to Paducah which will take 4-6 weeks to arrive.

  3. Richard says:

You’re right, Jeff! I’m now off to run some errands, Barbara is standing by with the check book.

  4. Cap'n Bob says:

Hallmark Channel? I’d rather watch the legislature discuss sewage disposal proposals. To each his own, I guess.

  5. Richard says:

Which only proves, Bob, that you’re an even bigger Scrooge, Bah Humbug than I am. It’s a bunch of Christmas movies, fer heaven’s sake.
